Natural biomolecular materials are mainly derived from nature, including cellulose, chitin, hyaluronic acid, collagen, gelatin and sodium alginate. These materials are widely used in the medical field because of their good biocompatibility and safety. For example, cellulose is used to make medical dressings and drug carriers, chitin and chitosan are used to make medical materials and drug preparations, and collagen is used to make artificial skin and tissue engineering scaffolds.

Synthetic biomolecular materials are synthetic by chemical methods for medical polymer materials, commonly used polyurethane, silicone rubber, polyester fiber, polyethylpyrrolidone, polyether ether ketone, polymethyl methacrylate, polyvinyl alcohol, polylactic acid, polyethylene and so on. These materials have the characteristics of good processing performance, good chemical stability and high mechanical strength, so they are also widely used in the medical field. For example, polyurethane is used to make artificial joints and catheters, silicone rubber is used to make artificial organs and tissue engineering scaffolds, and polyester is used to make medical textiles and bandages.

In general, the sources of medical polymer materials are very wide, including natural and synthetic biomolecular materials, which are processed and treated to meet the high standards and safety requirements for materials in the medical field.
